CUJLS Executive
Evan Hamilton, Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-In-Chief is ultimately responsible for overseeing the assembly and production of each issue of the Carleton University Journal of Legal Studies. The Editor-In-Chief is a member of the CULSS executive and reports to the President of the CULSS. The responsibilities of the Editor-In-Chief include working with Journal Administration to appoint the Editorial Board for each issue. The Editor-In-Chief meets with the Faculty Advisor to address any issues or potential roadblocks in the journal’s production. The Editor-In-Chief works with the Executive Director to serve as the liaison between the Writer(s) and the Editorial Board, and works closely with the Administrative Director and Publisher in assembling each issue. The Editor-In-Chief works with the Faculty Liaison to provide support to faculty in encouraging students to participate in the production of the CUJLS. The Editor-in-Chief is elected by the members of CULSS.
Evan is a third-year Bachelor of Journalism and Combined Honours Law (Business Law Concentration) student. Involved in numerous academic groups across campus, Evan is the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Carleton University Legal Studies Journal, as well as an Executive on the Legal Studies Society where he previously served as Director of Media Relations. 90% of his diet consists of peanut butter. Evan is also the Co-Founder of the Faculty of Public Affairs Society, an active member of the Carleton Moot Team, a Peer-Mentor for the Journalism Society and works for Housing and Conference Services as a Residence Fellow.
Shelbi Dippold, Executive Director
The Executive Director works with the Editor-In-Chief in managing the Editorial Board. They are responsible for overseeing the content of each issue. They provide anonymity for Staff Writer’s work and coordinate the editing of submission. They assist the Editor-In-Chief in drafting any commutation within the journal and with setting dates and deadlines.
Administrative Director
The Administrative Director coordinates the assembly and production aspect of the journal. They work with the Editor-In-Chief to find journal sponsors and publicly promote the journal. The Administrative Director oversees the Publisher in ensuring quality completion of each issue on deadlines. They are responsible for keeping track of expenses and revenue of the journal and preparing the journal’s budget for the CULSS.
Faculty Liaison
The Faculty Liaison is responsible for the promotion of the CUJLS within each department at Carleton University. Their objective is to promote student submissions for the journal. They achieve this by encouraging faculty to recommend student essays or articles they deem worthy of publication.
Publisher
The publisher is responsible for layout and pagination of the journal using publishing software, as well as coordinating any advertising, photography, artwork, or graphics used in the journal.
